How to enter the contest

If you’re looking to enter the Bird Photographer of the Year competition, here are some easy instructions you can follow to speed up your entry process.

Step 1

Navigate to the entry portal at https://enter.birdpoty.com.

Here, you can either login using your details or register for a new account by pressing ‘Create an Account’ or going to https://enter.birdpoty.com/register

Step 2

Once you’re logged in, you’ll be in the Dashboard of the entry website. Here, you can choose which area of the competition you’d like to submit a photo to.

If you’re in the adult competition, you’ll first need to purchase Entry Credits in order to submit images.

1 image is equal to 1 credit. Portfolio Award and Conservation Award are special categories where you submit 6 images at once, so they cost 6 credits to enter.

You can purchase credits on the portal or at this link: https://enter.birdpoty.com/credits

In the Young competition, it is free to enter up to a maximum of 10 images.

Step 3

Go back to the main Dashboard page, and click the button corresponding to the area of the contest you wish to enter.

Then, fill out the entry form and submit all the relevant information. Be sure to upload your photo at the end before pressing submit.

Uploaded images should be 2000px on the longest edge, and no more than 2 megabytes in size. You can learn how to compress a photo easily here.

Step 4

Up until the deadline of the competition, you can edit, delete, and change your submissions. Once the deadline passes, the contest will be locked and your images are automatically submitted into the competition.

Please note, you will not receive a confirmation email after this point. Your image showing in the Dashboard means that you have submitted your image successfully.

You can view any submissions you have made at this link: https://enter.birdpoty.com/entries
